Synopsis: Zlatan B. is 38, and appears to be hard as a rock and drop-dead gorgeous. He is a respectably gynecologist with no moral dilemmas concerning abortion, if that’s what his patients wish and decide to do. He also has no dilemmas in his personal life, because he knows that his wife Vesna and he are in love with the same person – him. His wife has been insisting for years that they have a child, but Zlatan still doesn’t think the time is right. He makes decisions like a small god, not noticing the crisis in his marriage. In his comfortable life, he is lulled in his thinking that he has got the situation under control. He enjoys the pleasures of life and firmly believes in his decisions until the day he finds out he is seriously ill and has little time left. Fully aware of the imminent end, Zlatan B. embarks on a journey during which he will try to face the mistakes he made in the past. This journey of a now changed, lost man melancholically roaming the paths he failed to choose is slightly bizarre in the surroundings of beautiful nature and lush landscapes, a complete counterpoint to the desolation in his soul. Further on, the range of characters accompanying him or he meets on the way are a reflection of his internal dilemmas and conflicts. In the final months of Zlatan’s existence, this drama turns into victory of forces of life over forces of death, and so, the last days of his life turn into the first days of a new life. A new life that was born as the result of Zlatan’s decision not to act according to the protocol once, and spare only one unborn life. The unwanted child becomes his lawful son and namesake who will not have the opportunity to meet him, nor will Zlatan have the opportunity to be his father. This child will be cared for and loved by Vesna, the mother who did not birth him, but wants him so much, and is the most important woman in the lives of both Zlatan B.s, the father and the son.
